HORSTMANN feed hoppers / dosing hoppers with decompactors are used for receiving and buffering larger quantities of material. Due to the high, very stable bunker walls and the length of the support, a high bunker volume can be realized, depending on the requirements. The downstream decompactor loosens, meters and distributes the material evenly onto the downstream conveyor belt. The bunker is placed on the ground level. Feeding is usually done with a wheel loader or grab crane. Feed bunkers are used for a wide variety of materials, e.g. green waste, biowaste, household waste, residual waste, commercial waste, compost, bulk wood, etc.

Depending on the material to be conveyed, a scraper chain conveyor or a roller-derived conveyor or a chain belt conveyor is used as the hopper belt. For very light, dry materials and small hopper volumes, a sliding belt conveyor can also be used.
